Cryogenics - Temperatures close to absolute zero

Cryogenics or low temperature technology deals with the production of very low temperatures. Cryogenics covers the Temperature range below -150 °C and is primarily used to evaluate physical effects at low temperatures. This is to simulate applications in space in order to test temperature influences on materials, structures and connections. In cryogenics, capacitive displacement sensors from Micro-Epsilon are used. Due to their robust Sensor design, they are extremely temperature-resistant in order to perform distance measurements at temperatures down to -270 °C. Based on their robust capacitive technology, these sensors also compensate for magnetic fields and vacuum environments. This is how these capacitive sensors achieve unmatched resolution and signal stability.
